Employee Spotlight: Josh Dominguez

Back again with another Employee Spotlight with one of our marketing consultants Josh Dominguez.

  • Full Name: Joshua Dominguez
  • Job Title: Associate Marketing Consultant
  • Practice: Team Yeti!
  • When did you join Exsilio? September 2016
  • Hometown: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia. Yes, I speak Russian!
  • Alma Mater: Biola University
  • What was your major? Business Marketing
  • How would you explain your role here at Exsilio to a stranger? On the Yeti team I do most of the digital analytics, Social Media/Advertising, and assist with our clients on market research. Lots of Marketing strategy! Oh, and SEO.
  • What does a typical work day look like for you? Most days I am monitoring and enhancing any advertising campaigns that we have going on for our clients. I'm assisting our designers with any content needs that they have and also working on internal social media campaigns. Often I'm meeting with internal departments to discuss their marketing needs/strategies. Busy days!
  • What aspects of your job do you enjoy the most? I really like the team that I work with. My co-workers are fun to work with. I enjoy being able to help out with stuff that's outside my comfort zone. The team is very agile and it's great to know your peers will pitch in here at Exsilio.
  • What is the most valuable lesson you have learned so far at Exsilio? Own your mistakes. Know that when people are upfront with issues but come to the table with solutions, you end up with a better result. Also this helps build a greater trust with the team.
  • What makes a great Exsilio employee? Caring about your work & not having someone lean over your shoulder to get approvals. So you need to be self-motivated. Being flexible because we have a lot of different clients and you will be working with them all! Step out of the box sometimes. Try something new and take a risk.
  • What has been your favorite experience at Exsilio? This is tough, but I would like to say my daily ping pong games. It is just great to take a quick break with my co-workers and destroy them all in ping pong (particularly Jameson). The holiday party was also really fun.
  • What are some of your hobbies/interests outside of work? I like to try out new bars, love video games, watching movies, EDM concerts, and comedy shows. I also love to travel with my wife. I also play a Star-Wars version of D&D every Monday with my friends.
  • What is your favorite activity to do in the Orange County area? There are some great concert venues in OC and LA and amazing food.
  • Food that you can’t live without? I love Korean & Japanese food. I would be quite sad without sushi and bibimbap.
  • If you were to plan your dream vacation, where would you be going? My dream vacation would be going to Europe and travel by train to all the different cities. Then hang out along the Mediterranean enjoying the sun and some outdoor activities.
  • Favorite Game (board or video)? Favorite all time? Wow, that is tough… Probably Halo 2. That is definitely the one that I've played the most, for the longest. Board game-wise, I would say chess.
