How would you explain your role here at Exsilio to a stranger? **starts laughing** I got a T-shirt that says it best! “Database Consultant.. Only because Full-time Multi-tasking Ninja is not a job title”

What does a typical work day look like for you? I wear many hats within my project. I am responsible for the server maintenance, making sure all the ETL’s and jobs execute on a daily basis. I also focus a lot on the data architecture. I let others focus on the UI! I am in Data for a reason!

What aspects of your job do you enjoy the most? I really like the opportunity of building and creating. That is why I like modeling, design & architecture. I like being able to work with stakeholders and end users, take their data, and rationalize that information for them. It helps them be successful in making business decisions.

What is the most valuable lesson you have learned so far at Exsilio? The biggest lesson I have learned is how to communicate in the right situation. Understand your audience and then communicate effectively.

What makes a great Exsilio employee? The people who I have seen excel at Exsilio are learners. They always want to build their skills. They are also passionate about people and bringing their best to the stakeholders and team. Leaders are learners.

What has been your favorite experience at Exsilio? Ah, so much comes to mind. You will always here people talk about the trips and parties. They are all fun for sure! I spent 10 years moving from position to position to find a job where I feel challenged on a daily basis. I found that at Exsilio. Not just with the stakeholder, but Exsilio challenges me to better myself personally and professionally.

What are some of your hobbies/interests outside of work? I am still an active hockey player and avid fan. Go Kings Go!

What is your favorite activity to do in the San Antonio area? San Antonio is rich with history. The Alamo is amazing. One thing I really enjoy down here is visiting the local missions. The architecture is awesome and learning about how the missionaries influenced the local area. Outside of that, I like the Spurs and the local hockey team (the Rampage)!

Food that you can’t live without? It would be popcorn. I eat popcorn almost daily. Whatever popcorn is available, I am all about it!

If you were to plan your dream vacation, where would you be going? The influence Alexander the Great has had on the culture. Really, I am a big history buff and to go somewhere like Greece and experience it would be pretty cool.

Favorite Game (board or video )? Right now I am playing Destiny. I am a big Xbox guy.
